Forest Manor Nursing Home has been offering a high standard of care for the elderly for many years, as it is a secure, happy and relaxed home situated in a pleasant residential area of Ashfield.  Forest Manor is situated within easy reach of Sutton-In-Ashfield town centre and is close to many local amenities.

Forest Manor has 34 single rooms and 3 shared bedrooms.  All rooms are tastefully decorated and fully furnished, however we do encourage residents to bring in smaller articles of their own furniture, pictures and ornaments to personalise their rooms.  Each room has a washbasin, a nurse call system and radiators with their own thermostat controls.

The communal areas include 2 comfortable lounges and a spacious dining area.

There are specialist bathing and shower facilities and residents can choose how they wish their hygiene needs to be met.  Externally, there is a well-kept spacious garden and court yard that is accessible to all wheelchairs and mobility aids.

Forest Manor Care Home has a friendly homely atmosphere providing care for clients with general old age nursing, physical disability, Dementia Spectrum of Disorders/ Disease, including progressive disorders such as Huntington’s Disease.  There are also facilities to cater for sufferers of Alcoholic Dementia and Traumatic Dementia, (brain injury victims).

The management of Forest Manor Car Home, who have many years of experience, offer a highly professional care service for the elderly, with a personal touch.  We are pleased to accept clients for long term, short term or respite stays, as well as day care.

Before someone comes to live here with us at Forest Manor Care Home there are certain things we need to know.  We have to make an initial assessment of the care a prospective resident requires, the type of social activities/ hobbies they enjoy and what religious needs they may have.  We then take into account the clients interests, skills, experiences, personality and medical condition.  The home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage the client to keep mobile, and most importantly take an interest in life.  Staff encourage, and in certain instances help, the residents pursue their hobbies and interests.

Clients families, relatives and friends are encouraged to visit the home regularly and maintain contact by letter or telephone when visiting is not possible.  In these cases, staff will offer to assist the client to respond where help may be needed.
